LG Develops 6G DTV Chips

Korean LG announced on December 25 that it has developed a 6G DTV (Digital Television) chip, which reduces size by 40%, saves power consumption by 30%, and improves performance by 30% in comparison to 5G chips. The new chips, claimed to be the world's first 6G DTV chips, consist of components capable of receiving both terrestrial and cable broadcasting signals, and are scheduled to hit the market in the first quarter of 2007.
